Description Assemble, modify, set up, and conduct performance and
other tests on air conditioning systems, with a particular focus on
water-source heat pumps. Collaborate with the engineering team in
the test lab to test and troubleshoot completed units.
Responsibilities Assemble, modify, set up, and conduct performance
and other tests on air conditioning and refrigeration systems,
sub-systems, and component assemblies, focusing on water-source
heat pumps. Assist with the maintenance of lab tools and equipment,
including annual, monthly, and daily preventative maintenance as
prompted by PM systems and lab supervisor. Contribute to
improvements in lab systems and tools to ensure continuous
improvement in processes and procedures, which may include
procedure writing and editing. Set up and instrument items in test
rooms or field locations as described above. Perform tests on units
according to the laboratory work schedule and applicable test
procedures. Monitor and accurately record test data, calculate
results or enter data into a computer, and formulate results for
presentation to Engineering. Maintain test rooms, instrumentation,
and reconditioning apparatus. Essential Skills 2 years of HVAC
service technician experience or experience providing general
operational knowledge of HVAC equipment through customer support. 1
years of experience and knowledge of the thermal cycle through
working with systems, either from school or professional work. 1
years of experience and knowledge of the impacts of heat
exchangers, TXVs, Fan Motors, Compressors, etc., either from school
or professional work. 1 years of experience with machine operation,
blueprint reading, and hand tools use. High School Diploma or
equivalent. High attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills. Knowledge of simple electrical circuits.
Windows PC knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications HVAC
troubleshooting experience. Previous field service technician
experience is preferred. Understanding of HVAC systems. Work
Environment The work environment is air-conditioned, and the
schedule includes working either 50 hours on the 2nd shift, Monday
to Friday from 2:30 pm to 12:30 am, or alternating between 2 weeks
on day shift starting at 7:00 AM and 2 weeks on 2nd shift starting
at 2:30 PM. The official schedule includes working 5 days per week
for 8 hours per day; however, the current needs require working 10
hours per day during the week, with the first shift working on
Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, amounting to 50 or 58 hours per
week. The company promotes an open culture with a long-term

6 years, and there is a focus on succession planning and leadership
growth. An intern program has also contributed to hiring engineers
from previous intern cohorts. Job Type & Location This is a
Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
